Tony’s experience in precious metals started in the 1970’s when he worked for the family business casting silver ingots and refining of gold. His intimate knowledge of precious metals gleaned from his late father Bruce Coleman allowed him to design and build a state of the art refining plant to recover silver from x-ray film with virtually zero impact on the environment, with over 95% of materials being recycled. A strong chemical background led Tony to study for a NZCS (chemistry), but moved his studies from sciences to Business, completing a diploma in business studies which had more future scope. Tony has been a director of the company since 1992. With over 30 years in the precious metals markets, Tony has seen both Bull and Bear markets, and is in a position to assess the risks and potential opportunities. John has had a life in sales like his father before him. Originally from Sydney Australia, John moved to New Zealand in the 90’s to head up the sales and marketing for a now well established hair products company. The key to that company’s early success was the personalised service he offered, combined with his excellent product and market knowledge. We are very pleased to say that John has developed these qualities, together with a clear understanding of how the precious metal markets operate in New Zealand, and delivers unprecedented customer service. Before John joined us here at NZ Gold Merchants, he spent 4 years managing various Michael Hill Jeweller retail stores around New Zealand, where he developed a passion for the precious metals
