Richard is the Technical Manager for New Zealand Gold Merchants and although he has been involved with the business from a very young age, he officially started in 1991. This family orientated man is responsible for the smooth running of both our production team and equipment, along with managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure and website.

Richard designs and often builds custom equipment for the refinery, drawing on his electrical and mechanical experience from his earlier working life.

His career began in sheet metal working, plastics pumps and gauges. He was later trained by Agfa and GE in medical and non-destructive imaging equipment and was the service manager for a Nurse Call installation company before settling back into New Zealand Gold Merchants.

When you are looking to refine product from sweeps and lemels to  amalgam, Richard will schedule and organise the resources to complete your job as quickly as possible. Backed by the refining team which includes Richard’s son Paul, the company invests in the latest technology with our refinery being capable of most refining jobs.
